Pricing & Rebates

Therapy Fees in Sydney

The average cost of counselling, psychotherapy, and psychology in Sydney typically ranges from $200–$350+ per session. Psychiatry appointments are generally higher, as psychiatrists are medical specialists.

Fees are set by individual practitioners and may vary depending on experience, qualifications, and the type and length of session.

Medicare Rebates (MHTP)

In Australia, Medicare rebates may be available for individuals accessing treatment for eligible mental health conditions under a Mental Health Treatment Plan. These rebates apply to sessions with Medicare-registered providers, require a referral from a GP, and are generally limited to a maximum of 10 individual therapy sessions per calendar year.

There is a common misconception that Medicare-funded sessions are free. In reality, Medicare only covers a portion of the session fee. Providers set their own rates—typically ranging from $250–$300+—which means most clients have an out-of-pocket cost of approximately $100–$150 per session.

Please note that Syné Collective operates outside of the Medicare system, and our psychotherapy services are not eligible for Medicare rebates.

Fee Schedule

At Syné Collective, we offer accessible, boutique psychotherapy without waitlists or referral requirements — so you can access support directly, when you need it.

Our fees are intentionally structured to remain in line with what many clients already pay out-of-pocket for therapy, while offering a private model of care that does not require referrals, treatment plans, or Medicare eligibility.

$150.00 — Individual Therapy (Standard Session)
$220.00 — Couples Therapy (Standard Session)

After Hours & Saturday Sessions are available upon request, and are offered at a slightly higher rate, reflecting extended hours and limited availability.

Accessing mental health care in Sydney often involves long wait times, limited availability, and reliance on bulk-billed or high-demand services.

We built Syné Collective with the belief that everyone should have access to boutique, personalised and compassionate care thats as easy and enjoyable as your morning coffee.

The Clinical Ecosystem can feel impersonal at times, confusing on focussed on medicinal intervention or diagnosis, causing people to disengage. However, when in need, most people simply start with a search for "psychologists near me" or get a GP referral to a psychiatrist, because they don't know where else to go.

At Syné Collective, we provide structured, evidence-based psychotherapy that can be used as standalone support, or alongside clinical care for more complex mental health issues where needed.

Without the judgement. Without the admin. Without the referrals. Without the waitlist.
